Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about our Equipment Management

How does SciSure track chemical inventory? Are Safety Data Sheets (SDS) included?

You can track every chemical from receipt to disposal. Containers can be labeled with barcodes, RFID tags, or other identifiers—depending on your lab's workflow. Inventory data updates in real time, including location, quantity, and ownership. SciSure also integrates with a regularly updated SDS database, so you can search by chemical name, CAS number, or manufacturer and keep documentation linked and accessible.

What happens when a container is empty?

Chemical records are never deleted—they're archived and removed from the active inventory and reporting totals, but always remain accessible for historical tracking. Containers can be removed by individual users or a centralized team. If your lab uses barcodes, you can remove the label and set it aside for scanning out. For others, manual removal through the interface works just as well. Archived records can be reactivated later if needed.

Can SciSure handle chemicals not in the standard database?

Yes, you can track unlisted chemicals as local entries. Oversight users can add regulatory data and pull properties from sources like PubChem.

Can I convert between different units of measurement?

Yes, SciSure includes a unit conversion tool so labs can track in metric while reports convert to pounds, gallons, or cubic feet as needed.
